This artwork titled "I can't change" was created using a technique that involved scrubbing off layers of paint and oil pastels to achieve a textured surface. I began with the canvas and applied layers of paint and oil pastels in various colors, incorporating different shades and tones to create visual depth.

Once the initial layers were applied and allowed to partially dry, I took a dry cloth and palette knife, and began gently removing sections of the paint and pastels from the surface. This process being repeated selectively, focusing on specific areas to create the desired effect.

Using this technique to gradually remove the layers of paint and pastels, by revealing the underlying surface while retaining traces of the previous layers. By doing so, a textured layer would have emerged, showcasing the interaction of colors and the physicality of the artistic process.

In the case of the artwork "I can't change," this technique was employed using layers of paint and oil pastels, resulting in a visually striking layer of bright yellow texture. The specific choice of bright yellow suggests the intentional use of color to convey a particular mood, emotion, or concept, which would be further enhanced by the textural qualities achieved through the scrubbing process.
